Public information meeting Apr. 14 to preview US 14 project

Work scheduled for US 14 this spring and summer will be previewed at a public information meeting Tuesday, Apr. 14 from 4 - 5:30 p.m. at the Black Earth State Bank, 1030 Mills Street, Black Earth.
The meeting will be held in an open house format. Representatives from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) will be on hand to provide project details and answer questions.
The resurfacing of US 14 in western Dane County is scheduled to begin Apr. 15. The project will extend eight miles from the west village limits of Cross Plains through Black Earth to the east village limits of Mazomanie. The project is expected to be completed the end of August 2009.
Local traffic will have access to residences and businesses in the work zone at all times during the project.
US 14 will remain open to through-traffic until mid-June. Starting June 15, through-traffic will be detoured using WIS 78, WIS 19 and WIS 12.
The $5.7 million project includes the reconstruction of the WIS 78 intersection.
