Public meeting Apr. 22 for WIS 13 in Ashland County

April 16, 2009

Meeting to focus on preliminary designs for resurfacing and box culvert projects

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northwest Region in Superior is announcing a public information meeting to discuss preliminary design concepts for the resurfacing of WIS 13 and the replacement of the Bay City Creek box culvert in the city of Ashland. The meeting is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday Apr. 22, 2009 at the Ashland City Hall, 601 West Main Street, Ashland.

The resurfacing project proposes to resurface WIS 13 from Butterworth Road to Northland College Drive. The roadway will be milled and overlaid with new asphalt pavement. The box culvert project proposes to replace the existing Bay City Creek culvert located just south of the WIS 13 and 13th Street intersection in the city of Ashland with a new structure. Two design concepts are being evaluated for the existing box culvert replacement.

The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, provide input and ask questions concerning this project. Maps showing the proposed improvement alternatives will be on display. WisDOT representatives will be available to discuss the project on an individual basis.

If you are unable to attend the meeting, or would like more information, contact project manager Andy Stensland at (715) 392-7963. Written comments regarding the project can be mailed to Andy Stensland, WisDOT, 1701 N. 4th Street, Superior, WI 54880. Citizens who are hearing-impaired and who require an interpreter may request one by contacting Andy Stensland at least three working days prior to the meeting via the Wisconsin Telecommunications Relay System (dial 711).
