Improvements to Beltline and US 14 in Dane County to be discussed Apr. 23

April 17, 2009

Planned improvements to the Madison Beltline (US 12/18) from Park Street to Rimrock Road, and improvements to US 14 from McCoy Road to West Badger Road will be discussed at a public information meeting Thursday, Apr. 23.

The meeting will be held in the Monona Room of the Alliant Energy Center’s Exhibition Hall from 5 - 7 pm. A brief presentation will be given at 5:30 p.m.

The meeting will be organized in an open-house format with a variety of exhibits and maps available for review. Project staff will be available to answer questions throughout the evening. The public is encouraged to attend and share verbal or written comments about the project.

WisDOT plans to construct auxiliary lanes along US 12 from Park Street to Rimrock Road on the eastbound and westbound roadways. In addition, several interchange ramps will be replaced and a new signalized intersection will be constructed on Park Street. Reconstruction of pavements on Park Street will also occur. Construction is currently scheduled to begin in 2010.

Persons unable to attend the meeting can make their comments by contacting project manager Michael Rampetsreiter at the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, Southwest Region - Madison office, 2101 Wright Street, Madison, WI, 53704, (608) 246-7917, michael.rampetsreiter@dot.wi.gov.

The Exhibition Hall is wheelchair-accessible. Persons with hearing impairments who wish special interpreter accommodations for the meeting should contact Michael Rampetsreiter via the Wisconsin Relay System (1-800-WI-RELAY) at least three business days before the meeting.
