April 29, 2009
Meeting to focus on long-range improvements from County P to WIS 32
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation’s (WisDOT) Northeast Regional office in Green Bay has scheduled a public information meeting for the WIS 23 Freeway Designation and Corridor Preservation Study between County P and WIS 32, in Sheboygan County. The meeting is being held at the city of Plymouth Fire Department, 111 E. Main Street, Plymouth, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 5. A short presentation is planned for 5:30 p.m.
Interested members of the public are encouraged to attend the open house. Maps and exhibits of the potential improvements will be on display. WisDOT representatives will be at the meeting to discuss the study and answer questions.
The purpose of the WIS 23 Freeway Designation and Corridor Preservation Study is to prepare a long-range plan showing the ultimate transportation facility, including access locations. Long-range transportation improvements will be designed and officially mapped from County P to the existing freeway section near WIS 32. These improvements will allow for future conversion of the existing facility to a freeway when the need occurs and funding is available. No construction projects are currently scheduled as part of this study.
