April 29, 2009

Meeting to focus on bridge replacement over the South Fork of the Spirit River in Price County

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is conducting a public information meeting for a proposed bridge replacement project located on WIS 102, adjacent to Spirit Lake, in the town of Spirit.

The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 12, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Spirit Town Hall, W1316 State Road 86, Ogema. A brief presentation is scheduled to begin at 5:15 p.m. The remainder of the meeting will follow an open house format. Maps showing the proposed improvements will be on display. WisDOT representatives will be available to discuss the project on an individual basis.

Proposed improvements include complete removal and replacement of the bridge and the associated roadway approaches. Acquisition of new right of way is also proposed for the project.

Construction is currently scheduled to occur during summer 2010. During construction, WIS 102 will be closed to through traffic and detoured via Price County YY and Price/Taylor County C. Local access will be maintained to residences and businesses within the project limits.
