Work to begin week of May 25 at WIS 100/95th Street in Milwaukee County
May 13, 2009
Safety work would include signal, crosswalk changes
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) has announced that signalization work is scheduled to begin the week of May 25 on the intersection of WIS 100 (Brown Deer Road) with 95th Street.
In addition to constructing traffic signals, improvements will be made to the left-turn lanes on WIS 100 and to the pedestrian crosswalks. During the course of these improvements there will be periodic lane closures on WIS 100 in both the eastbound and westbound directions. Access will be maintained but there may be times when left-turns are restricted and motorists may need to use alternernative routes.
The pavement changes will be limited to what is needed for the left-turn lanes and traffic signals. There will not be any additional roadway improvements at this time. WIS 100 is planned for a resurfacing project in 2010. The limits of that project will be from 91st Street to 124th Street. The intersection of 95th Street will also be resurfaced at that time to provide a continuous smooth riding surface when the project is completed.
A combination of state and federal funds will pay for the project.
