Meeting May 27 concerning WIS 32/57 in Calumet County

May 15, 2009

Public invited to comment on access control study

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) NE Region in Green Bay is announcing a public information meeting concerning WIS 32/57 Controlled Access Project in Calumet County. The meeting will be held Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at the Calumet County Court House, Room 025 (located in the lower level) from 5 to 7 p.m. A short presentation is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. The purpose of the meeting is to gather public comments regarding access controls on this highway. No construction or other highway improvements are planned as part of this Controlled Access Project.

The access control project is 10.7 miles in length. It begins at the north city limits of New Holstein and extends northerly to the south village limits of Hilbert. The project does not include the section of WIS 32/57 within the city of Chilton.

WisDOT’s goal is to accommodate the current use of the land along the roadway and preserve the existing access while accommodating future development by working closely with the communities adjacent to WIS 32/57.

Maps and exhibits showing the proposed access control will be available for review. The public is encouraged to attend. WisDOT staff will be available to explain the project and answer questions.

Persons unable to attend the meeting can make their comments or receive information concerning this project by contacting Patrick Laux, Northeast Region, P.O. Box 28080, 944 Vanderperren Way, Green Bay, WI 54324-0080.

The meeting site is wheelchair accessible. Citizens who are hearing-impaired and who require an interpreter may request one by contacting Patrick Laux at least three working days prior to the meeting via the Wisconsin Telecommunications Relay system (dialing 711).
