Public meeting June 18 for bridges over I-43 in Milwaukee County

Meeting to focus on upcoming bridge rehabilitation project involving the Brown Deer Road, Good Hope Road and Green Tree Road bridges over I-43

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is conducting a public information meeting to discuss proposed improvements to Brown Deer Road, Good Hope Road, and Green Tree Road over I-43. The meeting will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2009 at the Indian Hill School, 1101 West Brown Deer Road, River Hills from 5 to 7 p.m.

The purpose of this meeting is to update the public on the proposed design and provide an overview of the construction schedule. The proposed work includes bridge replacements at Brown Deer Road and Good Hope Road, and a bridge deck overlay at Green Tree Road. The project also includes safety improvements for the north and south on-ramps at Brown Deer Road, and installation of barrier wall along I-43 at Brown Deer Road, Good Hope Road and Green Tree Road.

The meeting will be conducted in an open house format with project exhibits on display for review. WisDOT and consultant staff will be available to answer questions. Participants will be able to provide written or verbal comments to the project staff during the meeting.
