Public meeting June 16 for WIS 153 in Marathon County

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is conducting a public information meeting for the reconstruction of WIS 153 from Maple Street to WIS 49 in the village of Elderon in Marathon County.

The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, June 16 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Elderon Village Hall, 9187 State Road 153. A brief presentation will begin at 6:15 p.m. The remainder of the meeting will follow an informal open house format.

Exhibits showing details of the proposed project will be available for review. WisDOT representatives will be available to answer questions throughout the evening. Participants are invited to provide input concerning the project during or after the meeting.

The reconstruction of WIS 153 in Elderon is currently scheduled for 2013. The project will begin 500 feet west of Maple Street and end 200 feet east of WIS 49. The project will also include improvements to the intersection of WIS 49 and WIS 153.

Citizens who are unable to attend the meeting, or would like more information, can contact the WisDOT project leader Jason Schaeffer at (715) 421-7309. Written comments regarding the project can be mailed to Jason Schaeffer, WisDOT, 1681 Second Avenue South, Wisconsin Rapids, WI 54495. Citizens who are deaf or hard-of-hearing and who require an interpreter may request one by contacting Jason Schaeffer at least three working days prior to the meeting via the Wisconsin Telecommunications Relay System (dial 711).
