Public meeting June 18 for Kettle Moraine Road in Washington County
June 9, 2009
Meeting to focus on preliminary designs improving safety and traffic flow
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Southeast Region in Waukesha is announcing a public information meeting to discuss preliminary design concepts for the reconstruction of the WIS 60 and Kettle Moraine Road Intersection in Washington County. The meeting is scheduled from 3 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2009 at the city of Hartford Community Room located at 109 North Main Street in Hartford, Wisconsin.
The proposed project will reconstruct the intersection of WIS 60 and Kettle Moraine Road to improve intersection safety, add turn lanes, increase storage for turning vehicles and accommodate permanent traffic signals. The permanent traffic signals will replace the temporary traffic signals currently operating at the intersection. Final plans are scheduled to be ready in winter of 2009 and construction is scheduled to begin in spring of 2010.
The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, provide input and ask questions concerning this project. Maps showing the proposed improvement alternatives will be on display. WisDOT, city of Hartford and design consultant representatives will be available to discuss the project on an individual basis.
If you are unable to attend the meeting, or would like more information, contact the design consultant / project manager, Paul Stankevich at Kapur & Associates, Inc. (414) 351-6668.
