News conference/media availability - Indiana mayor to speak on roundabout experience

What:
One of the nation’s top advocates of roundabouts to improve intersection traffic flow and
safety, Jim Brainard, the Mayor of Carmel, Indiana, will speak in the Green Bay area Thursday night
June 18. Prior to his presentation to more than 300 government and business leaders, he’ll hold a
news conference/media availability to talk about his experience with roundabouts.
Who:
Jim Brainard, the Mayor of Carmel, Indiana - a city that will have more than 60 roundabouts
installed by 2011 in order to remove traffic signals and improve traffic flow - will speak of his
experiences with the new traffic systems during his 13 years in office.
Why:
To openly discuss the controversies surrounding roundabouts, answer questions, and explore
Carmel’s experience with roundabouts.
