WIS 15/US 41 interchange update for Outagamie County

June 17, 2009

Work will not impact weekend traffic, but motorists asked to be alert to motorcycles

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region in Green Bay is announcing an update to the work currently taking place on the WIS 15/US 41 interchange in Outagamie County. Currently, WIS 15 is reduced to one lane westbound at the interchange. All lanes on WIS 15 will be open by Thursday morning, June 18. Additionally, all turning movements will also be allowed at the interchange with one exception. Semis, large vehicles and busses will not be able to turn from US 41 southbound to WIS 15 westbound.

Motorists are also reminded to remain alert to a significantly increased number of motorcycles that will be visiting the Fox Valley area this weekend due to the Wisconsin State Harley Owners Group (HOG) Rally. The HOG rally takes place on the Fox Valley Technical College Bluemound Road campus. Motorcycles are hard to see and drivers should make an extra effort to remain alert and check blind spots before maneuvering in traffic. Additionally, WIS 15 will be the principal motorcycle route between the rally located just east of US 41 and the Harley Davidson of Appleton motorcycle shop located to the west of US 41 and for planned rides leaving the rally.
