Ramp closures scheduled for WIS 172 in Brown County

Closures will occur during evening hours

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region is announcing the following ramp closures associated with the WIS 172 reconstruction project in Brown County. These closures are weather-dependent.

• Monday, July 22 - The exit ramp from I-43 northbound to WIS 172 westbound will be closed from 7 p.m. Monday, June 22 to 5 a.m. Tuesday, June 23.
• Tuesday, July 23 - The on- and off-ramps from eastbound WIS 172 to County GV will be closed from 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 23 to 5 a.m. Wednesday, June 24.
• Wednesday, July 24 - The on- and off-ramps from westbound WIS 172 to County GV will be closed from 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 24 to 5 a.m. Thursday, June 25.
• Thursday, July 25 - The on- and off-ramps from westbound WIS 172 to Webster Avenue and the connector to Riverside Drive will be closed from 7 p.m. Thursday, June 25 to 5 a.m. Friday, June 26.
• Friday, July 26 - The on-ramp from Webster Avenue to westbound WIS 172 and the connector to Riverside Drive will be closed from 8 p.m. Friday, June 26 to 6 a.m. Saturday, June 27.

This $37 million project is 5.5 miles in length from US 41 east to I-43. The work includes the removal, replacement, widening and overlay of bridge decks, concrete pavement repair, and complete resurfacing of east and westbound lanes. There will also be upgrades to lighting, traffic signals, storm sewer, and curb and gutter.

Motorists are reminded to use caution and remain alert when driving through this or any work zone.
