I-43 project in Ozaukee County scheduled to start July 6
June 24, 2009
As part of his ongoing “Grow Wisconsin” initiative to invest in Wisconsin’s infrastructure and stimulate our state’s economy, Governor Jim Doyle has approved a $400,000 project to improve the I-43 and County KK interchange in Ozaukee County.
Work is scheduled to begin the week of July 6. The project will rehabilitate the two I-43 bridges over County KK with a new asphalt deck surface. Improvements will provide a smoother driving surface and enhance safety.
Construction will be completed in stages. I-43 will remain open throughout construction; however, traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction.
The contractor, Lunda Construction Company, is scheduled to complete the project by mid-September, weather permitting.
100 percent of the project will be paid for with state transportation funds.
