Governor Doyle approves $2 million for WIS 25 in Dunn County

June 29, 2009

Project advanced through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA)

As part of national efforts to create jobs and provide immediate economic benefits to Wisconsin and the country, Governor Jim Doyle has signed a $2.1 million contract to improve nearly six miles of WIS 25 between County D and WIS 170 in Dunn County. The project was advanced using funds provided by the ARRA.

“Wisconsin is helping to lead the way to economic recovery by putting people to work quickly on projects that improve the state’s transportation infrastructure,” Governor Doyle said.

Monarch Paving is the prime contractor of the project. Construction includes resurfacing the roadway and adding turn lanes at the County D intersection to provide for a smoother and safer ride for motorists.

Construction on the project is scheduled to begin Monday, June 29, 2009 with the project expected to be completed by the end of August.

During construction, WIS 25 will remain open to traffic at all times with single lane closures.
