Governor Jim Doyle approves improvements for WIS 73 in Wood County
July 1, 2009
As part of his “Grow Wisconsin” initiative to invest in Wisconsin’s infrastructure and stimulate
our state’s economy, Governor Jim Doyle recently signed an $802,000 contract to improve five miles
of WIS 73 between County U and WIS 13 in Saratoga, Wood County. Construction is scheduled to begin
in late July.
American Asphalt of Mosinee is the prime contractor for the project. Crews will repave WIS 73
with new asphalt.
Construction is scheduled for completion by the end of August.
During construction, WIS 73 will be open to traffic. Motorists can expect to encounter daytime lane closures and flagging operations.
One hundred percent of the project will be paid with state transportation funds.
