July 2, 2009
Project advanced through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act
As part of national efforts to create jobs and provide immediate economic benefits to Wisconsin and the country, Governor Jim Doyle has signed a contract to improve 5.8 miles of WIS 11 in Rock County. The $2.8 million project was advanced using funds provided by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
“Wisconsin is helping to lead the way to economic recovery by putting people to work quickly on projects that improve the state’s transportation infrastructure.” Governor Doyle said.
Rock Road Companies Inc. is the prime contractor. The project includes pavement replacement between Footville and Janesville.
Construction is scheduled to begin the week of July 6. Work is expected to be completed in September 2009.
One lane of traffic will remain open throughout the project.
