Public meeting July 15 to discuss US 151 freeway conversion in Dodge County

July 8, 2009

A public information meeting will be conducted to discuss the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) study of converting US 151 to a freeway. The meeting will be held July 15, 2009, from 5 - 7 p.m. at the Beaver Dam American Legion, 300 Beichl Avenue.

The meeting will be held in an open house format with a brief presentation at 5:30 p.m.

WisDOT is studying the US 151 corridor for potential conversion from expressway to freeway. This is the second public meeting being held to discuss the study. The meeting will summarize completed work and present preliminary concepts for freeway conversion. These concepts will include proposed interchanges, overpasses, frontage roads and relocated driveways. Further input will be solicited from those living along the corridor and impacted by the study.

Design plans and other exhibits will be on display at the informational meeting and representatives from WisDOT will be available to discuss the study and answer questions. The public is encouraged to attend the meeting to learn more about the study and discuss their comments or concerns.

Persons who are unable to attend the meeting, or would like more information, can contact project manager Mark Westerveld at (608) 246-5355. Written comments regarding the project can be mailed to Mark Westerveld, WisDOT, 2101 Wright Street, Madison, WI 53704-2583 or e-mailed to mark.westerveld@dot.wi.gov.
