Governor Doyle approves $157,895 project at Waupaca Municipal Airport

Governor Jim Doyle has approved a $157,895 project to acquire snow removal equipment at the Waupaca Municipal Airport – Brunner Field. The Governor’s action releases $3,947 in state funds to provide needed snow removal equipment for airport operations. The City of Waupaca is contributing $3,948 and the Federal Aviation Administration is providing $150,000.
According to Michael Gabor, airport engineering specialist with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, the project will help to keep the airport in operation during the winter months.
The equipment will be delivered by late fall 2009.
Waupaca Municipal Airport has two runways. Currently, 35 aircraft are based at the
airport, and approximately 20,000 take-offs and landings occur each year.
