Kiel intersection (WIS 32/57 and First Street) in Manitowoc County now 4-way stop

July 14, 2009

Change made to improve safety on detour route

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) NE Region in Green Bay is announcing the intersection of WIS 32/57 (Fremont St.) and First Street in the city of Kiel in Manitowoc County is now a 4-way stop. It had been a three way stop, but was changed to improve safety. This is part of a detour route in place while WisDOT improves WIS 67 from WIS 32/57 to County AA.

The project involves construction of two roundabouts, an intersection reconstruction, and reconstruction of the WIS 67 roadway. It is expected to be completed in October, when the Fremont/First Street intersection will revert to its original configuration.

Motorists are advised to use caution and remain alert when driving through this or any work zone.
