Governor Doyle approves $1.5 million for WIS 64 improvements in Dunn County
July 16, 2009
Project advanced through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act
As part of national efforts to create jobs and provide immediate economic benefits to Wisconsin and the country, Governor Jim Doyle has signed a $1.5 million contract to improve 6.5 miles of WIS 64 from the West County Line to County O. The project was advanced using funds provided by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
“Wisconsin is helping to lead the way to economic recovery by putting people to work quickly on projects that improve the state’s transportation infrastructure,” Governor Doyle said.
Monarch Paving, a division of Mathy Construction Company, is the prime contractor. The road maintenance project consists of milling and replacing three and a half inches of the roadway surface.
Construction on the project is scheduled to begin July 20 and be completed by the end of September 2009.
During construction, WIS 64 will have single lane closures with the use of flagging crews.
