Governor Doyle approves $15,000 project at Iowa County Airport
July 17, 2009
Governor Jim Doyle has approved a $15,000 project to purchase a mower deck attachment for existing airport maintenance equipment at the Iowa County Airport. The Governor’s action releases $12,000 in state funds for the project and Iowa County is contributing the remaining $3,000.
According to Andy Trimble, airport development engineer with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, the project will provide the necessary equipment to maintain airport property.
The equipment is scheduled to be purchased in early summer 2009.
The Iowa County Airport is located three miles northwest of the city of Mineral Point. The airport encompasses 309 acres and consists of two runways, connecting taxiways, aprons, entrance road, parking lot and terminal building.
