Governor Doyle approves $170,000 project at Park Falls Municipal Airport
July 17, 2009
Governor Jim Doyle has approved a $170,000 project to purchase snow removal equipment at the Park Falls Municipal Airport. The Governor’s action releases $4,250 in state funds for the project and the city of Park Falls is contributing another $4,250. The Federal Aviation Administration is providing $161,500.
According to Eric Johnson, project manager with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, the project will help insure prompt snow clean-up and early re-opening of the airport after a snowstorm.
The equipment is scheduled for delivery in November 2009.
The Park Falls Municipal Airport is located on the east side of the city, north of Highway 182 and southeast of the Flambeau River. The airport consists of an asphalt runway, a taxiway and a hangar area.
