Governor Doyle approves $150,000 project at Sheboygan County Memorial Airport
July 17, 2009
Governor Jim Doyle has approved a $150,000 project to procure a piece of snow removal equipment at the Sheboygan County Memorial Airport. The Governor’s action releases $120,000 in state funds for the purchase and Sheboygan County is contributing $30,000.
There are 134 aircraft based at the Sheboygan County Memorial Airport. The approximately 66,000 aircraft operations at the airport each year rank it the tenth busiest airport in Wisconsin for total take-offs and landings. A benefit/cost analysis done for the airport has revealed that every $1 invested in airport improvements results in approximately $24 in economic activity for the local area.
