July 17, 2009
Project advanced through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act
As part of national efforts to create jobs and provide immediate economic benefits to Wisconsin and the country, Governor Jim Doyle has signed a $1.3 million contract to improve seven miles of WIS 73 between WIS 13 and the Clark County line in Wood County. The project was advanced using funds provided by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
“Wisconsin is helping to lead the way to economic recovery by putting people to work quickly on projects that improve the state’s transportation infrastructure,” Governor Doyle said.
American Asphalt of Mosinee is the prime contractor of the project. Crews will repave WIS 73 with new asphalt.
Construction on the project is scheduled to begin July 23. Work is scheduled for completion in early September 2009.
During construction, WIS 73 will remain open to traffic. Crews will use flagging operations to guide traffic through the construction zone.
