WIS 14 project scheduled to start July 27 in Walworth County

July 21, 2009

As part of his ongoing “Grow Wisconsin” initiative to invest in Wisconsin’s infrastructure and stimulate our state’s economy, Governor Jim Doyle has approved a $957,000 project to improve 6.12 miles of WIS 14 from Sweet Road to Wisconsin Street in Walworth County.

Construction is scheduled to begin the week of July 27. Work will include resurfacing the existing roadway with new asphalt. The improvements will provide a smoother driving surface and extend the life of the pavement.

The roadway will remain open during construction with flagging around the work areas.

The contractor, B.R. Amon & Sons, Inc. is scheduled to complete the project by early September, weather permitting.

80 percent of the project will be paid with federal transportation funds; the remaining 20 percent will be paid with state funding.
