The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is conducting open forum public hearings on the Final Draft Connections 2030 statewide long-range multimodal transportation plan and its corresponding System-Plan Environmental Evaluation.
The hearings are scheduled at five locations throughout the state:
- August 11, Milwaukee, Milwaukee County Transit Center
- August 12, Madison, Alliant Energy Center
- August 13, Appleton, Appleton West High School
- August 19, Stevens Point, UW-Stevens Point Dreyfus University Center
- August 20, Eau Claire, Sacred Heart Conference Center
All public hearings will be held from 4 – 7 p.m. Oral testimony will begin at 4:30 p.m. While no formal presentation will be given, an ongoing PowerPoint presentation will be available for participants to review.
Connections 2030 provides a vision for highways, local roads, air, water, rail, bicycle, pedestrian and transit through the year 2030. When adopted, the plan policies and recommendations will direct WisDOT’s activities in areas such as preserving transportation infrastructure and services, promoting transportation and supporting economic growth.
The environmental evaluation provides a qualitative review of the plan’s recommendations, and the potential environmental and social impacts if the plan is implemented.
