WIS 82 intersection improvement to be discussed at August 12 public meeting

Planned improvements to the WIS 82 County HH/Huskers Road intersection located approximately six miles east of Mauston in Juneau County will be discussed at a public information meeting Wednesday, August 12, 2009.

The meeting will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Town of Marion Town Hall, N4895 County Road HH, located east of Mauston and approximately one mile north of the intersection of WIS 82 and County Road HH.

Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is proposing to improve the intersection to increase safety and reduce the number of accidents which have been occurring. The proposed improvements include lengthening the right turn lane onto County HH, adding a slotted left turn lane onto County HH, and converting the 4-leg intersection into a T-intersection of WIS 82 and County HH. The project will be built in stages to accommodate traffic and is currently schedule for construction in 2010.

The August 12 meeting will be conducted in an open house format with a variety of exhibits and maps available for review. Representatives from WisDOT will be on hand to answer questions throughout the evening. Attendees will have the option of making written or verbal comments during the gathering.
