WIS 19 improvements in Dane County to be discussed at August 4 public meeting

Planned improvements to WIS 19 in Dane County will be discussed at a public informational meeting Tuesday, August 4.

The meeting will be held in the Waunakee High School auditorium from 5 - 8 p.m. The meeting will be an open house with a variety of exhibits and maps available for review. A Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) presentation will begin at 6 p.m. Representatives from WisDOT will be available to answer questions. Participants are encouraged to make written or verbal comments.

WisDOT plans to mill and overlay the existing pavement from O’Malley Street to Six Mile Creek and reconstruct the intersection at Century Avenue. Klein Drive to Division Street on WIS 19 will be closed to through traffic. Access will be made available to residents who have no other access. Construction is anticipated to begin in the spring of 2013 and should be completed by fall of 2013.

Persons unable to attend the meeting can make their comments directly to Lalitha Balachandran, project manager. Written comments can be mailed to Wisconsin Department of Transportation, Southwest Region, 2101 Wright Street, Madison, WI 53704. Verbal comments can be voiced to Lalitha Balachandran by phone at (608) 243-3382.

The Waunakee High School is wheelchair-accessible. Persons who are deaf or hard of hearing and require an interpreter for the meeting should contact Lalitha Balachandran at least three working days prior to the meeting at (608) 243-3382 via the Wisconsin Relay System (dial 711).
