All DMV offices closed Friday, August 7 for employee furlough
August 3, 2009
All Wisconsin Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) offices will be closed for business on Friday, August 7 as DMV staff complete one of eight unpaid days required for each of the next two years. Employee furloughs for all university and state employees are part of the 2009 – 2011 state budget recently signed into law.
DMV’s automated phone system will remain available so that motorists can still make road test appointments and have access to recorded information.
Titling and registration services are offered by many third-party partners, such as some police stations, grocery stores and financial institutions around the state. Information can be found at: www.dot.wisconsin.gov/drivers/vehicles/plates/walkin.htm.
DMV would like to remind customers that many services like vehicle registration renewal do not require a visit to a service center and are available online 24/7 at: www.wisconsindmv.gov.
All DMV offices will resume regular business hours on Monday, August 10.
