Public meeting August 13 for US 53 in Washburn County

Meeting to focus on gathering knowledge and noting public concerns

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northwest Region in Superior is announcing a public information meeting to discuss a proposed pavement replacement for US 53 from County H to Whalen Lake Road in Washburn County. The meeting is scheduled from 5 - 7 p.m. on August 13, 2009 at the Trego Town Hall, on W5690 Trego River Street.

A pavement replacement design concept is being considered for the north and southbound lanes of US 53. Also included are other improvements to intersections, counter-directional construction staging and replacement of highway signs and beam guard ends.

The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, provide input and ask questions concerning this project. WisDOT representatives will be available to discuss the project on an individual basis. The meeting will be held in an open house format, there are no formal presentations planned.
