WIS 50 project scheduled to start in Walworth County August 24
August 5, 2009
As part of his ongoing “Grow Wisconsin” initiative to invest in Wisconsin’s infrastructure and stimulate our state’s economy, Governor Jim Doyle has approved a $930,000 project to improve 3.4 miles of WIS 50 from North Shore Drive to WIS 67 in Walworth County.
Construction is scheduled to begin the week of August 24. Work will include resurfacing the existing roadway, updating signals and other preventative maintenance work. The improvement will provide a smoother driving surface, extend the life of the pavement, and increase safety.
The roadway will remain open to traffic at all times during construction by use of flagging operations.
The contractor, Payne and Dolan, Inc., is expected to complete the project by October, weather permitting.
100 percent of the project will be paid with state transportation funds.
