US 41 project scheduled to start Aug. 17 in Washington County
August 13, 2009
As part of his ongoing “Grow Wisconsin” initiative to invest in Wisconsin’s infrastructure and stimulate our state’s economy, Governor Jim Doyle has approved a $404,000 project to improve the US 41 and County K Interchange in Washington County.
Construction is scheduled to begin the week of August 17. Work will include rehabilitating the concrete pavement on US 41 and replacing the asphalt pavement on the WIS 60 West northbound off-ramp. The improvements will provide a smoother driving surface and increase the life of the pavement.
The roadway will remain open during construction; however, daily lane closures will occur on US 41 and the northbound off-ramp at WIS 60 west will be closed one evening for repairs.
The contractor, Payne and Dolan, Inc. is scheduled to complete the project by September 15, weather permitting.
100 percent of the project will be paid with state transportation funds.
