Traffic alert: Both lanes to be open on I-43, KK bridges in Ozaukee County Sat., Aug. 28

August 18, 2009

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) has announced it will fully open I-43 in Ozaukee County on Saturday, August 28 in anticipation of heavy traffic for the Green Bay Packers game. The previously announced plan was to have one of the two lanes in each direction closed, due to a bridge deck overlay project on I-43 over County KK in Ozaukee County. But WisDOT decided to open both lanes in each direction because of the expectation of increased traffic volumes expected for the game. WisDOT will be opening two lanes of traffic in both directions by providing a lane shift over the bridge deck. In that area, the speed limit will be 55 mph and motorists are being asked to use caution.
