Governor Doyle approves $175,000 project at Lawrence Timmerman Airport

August 20, 2009

Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle has approved a $175,000 project to rehabilitate airfield pavements at Milwaukee County’s Lawrence J. Timmerman Airport.  The Governor’s action releases $4,375 in state funds to help complete the project.  Milwaukee County is contributing another $4,375, and the Federal Aviation Administration is providing $166,250.

According to Wendy Hottenstein, airport development engineer with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, the project will repair various deteriorated pavement areas.

The project is scheduled to begin in summer 2009 and should be completed by fall 2009.

Facilities at Lawrence J. Timmerman Airport include two paved runways measuring 4,106 feet and 3,202 feet, along with two turf airstrips that together accommodate approximately 80,000 take-offs and landings each year.
