I-94 road work near the St. Croix River begins September 8
August 27, 2009
Motorists will encounter possible delays on I-94 between the St. Croix River and Century Avenue in Minnesota when the Minnesota Department of Transportation begins a concrete repair project on the roadway September 8.
Work will start at the St. Croix River in the right lanes and move westward to Century Avenue, then back from Century Avenue going eastward in the right lanes to the St. Croix River. The left lanes will then be worked on in the same sequence.
Temporary lane closures and ramp closures will occur during the project. However, lane closures will occur during non-rush hour to minimize delays. For westbound motorists, this means all lanes will be open from 6 - 8 a.m. weekdays. Motorists traveling at the tail end of the morning rush hour will likely see some congestion and slow traffic. To minimize delays, motorists are encouraged to travel during the non-working hours.
The entire project is anticipated to be completed by October 31, weather permitting.
