WisDOT Public Meeting Sept. 9 for WIS 153

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is conducting a public information meeting to discuss the proposed improvements to the WIS 153 and Old 51 intersection and the reconstruction of the Old 51 and Depot Street intersection. Local officials, property owners and other parties interested are encouraged to attend.
The meeting is scheduled to take place in the Mosinee High School cafeteria, 1000 High Street, Mosinee, on Wednesday, Sept. 9, from 6 to 8 p.m. The public is encouraged to use entrance number 7, located on the north side of the high school. The meeting will follow an open house format. A brief presentation is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Maps showing the proposed improvements will be on display and the video “All about Wisconsin Roundabouts” will be shown throughout the meeting.
The purpose of the meeting is to present information to the public about the preliminary design of the intersections, specifically the conversion of the WIS 153 and Old 51 intersection into a roundabout. Construction is currently scheduled to begin in summer 2010.
All citizens with questions as well as those with knowledge that may assist in the development of this project are encouraged to attend and/or contact project personnel.

Written comments regarding the project can be mailed to Dan Holloway, WisDOT, 1681 Second Avenue South, Wisconsin Rapids, WI 54495. Citizens who are deaf or hard of hearing and who require an interpreter may request one by contacting Dan Holloway at least three working days prior to the meeting via the Wisconsin Telecommunications Relay System (dial 711).
