Public Meetings Sept. 16 and 30 for WIS 33 Corridor Management Study
September 1, 2009
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Southeast Region in Waukesha is announcing two public information meetings regarding the WIS 33 Corridor Management Study being done for the section of WIS 33 between County U and I-43 in Washington and Ozaukee counties.
The meetings will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 16 at the Addison Town Hall, 127 First Street, Allenton, and Wednesday, Sept. 30 at the Saukville Elementary School, 333 N. Mill Street, Saukville. Both meetings will be from 5 to 7:30 p.m. with a brief presentation given at 6 p.m. The same information will be available at both meetings.
WisDOT is carrying out this study to develop a long-term plan for managing the corridor to preserve safety and serve the expected growth in travel. The study will assess current conditions and consider future traffic and land use changes.
According to WisDOT project manager Beth Blum, as traffic volumes on WIS 33 grow safety problems could develop. The plan will make recommendations for possible short-term improvements and for further study of possible long-term improvements.
The public is encouraged to attend one of the meetings, provide input, and ask questions concerning this project. Maps of the corridor will be on display. WisDOT representatives will be available to discuss the project on an individual basis.
If you would like more information, contact Beth Blum at (262) 548-8644. Citizens who are deaf or hard of hearing and who require an interpreter may request one by contacting Beth Blum at least three working days prior to the meeting via the Wisconsin Telecommunications Relay system (Dial 711).
