September 1, 2009

Meeting to focus on gathering knowledge and noting public concerns

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northwest Region in Superior is announcing a public information meeting to discuss planned improvements on WIS 27 in the townships of Highland and Brule, beginning at Rush Lake Road and extending northerly to County B. The meeting is scheduled from 5:30 - 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 16 at the Brule Town Hall.

This reconstruction project scheduled for 2013 includes adding shoulders and lane width, slope flattening, realigning several sharp horizontal curves, replacing culvert pipes and repaving the roadway. The project will be constructed under traffic flow for a time, but a detour will be necessary for the majority of the construction project.

The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, provide input and ask questions concerning this project. WisDOT representatives will be available to discuss the project on an individual basis. The meeting will be held in an open house format. There are no formal presentations planned.
