Governor Doyle approves $12,300 project at Waupaca Municipal Airport

September 8, 2009

Governor Jim Doyle has approved a $12,300 project to purchase mowing equipment at the Waupaca Municipal Airport – Brunner Field.  The Governor’s action releases $9,840 in state funds for the project and the City of Waupaca is contributing the remaining $2,460.

According to Eric Johnson, airport development engineer with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, the project will provide mowing equipment for the airport under a program to control wildlife and birds at airports.

The mowing equipment should be delivered by November 2009.

Waupaca Municipal Airport has two runways.  Currently, 35 aircraft are based at the airport, and approximately 20,000 take-offs and landings occur each year.
