Governor Jim Doyle approves WIS 55 improvements in Langlade County

September 8, 2009

As part of his “Grow Wisconsin” initiative to invest in Wisconsin’s infrastructure and stimulate our state’s economy, Governor Jim Doyle recently signed a $424,000 contract to improve 2.9 miles of WIS 55 between Wolfe Road and School Road in Langlade County. Construction is scheduled to begin in late September 2009.

Northeast Asphalt of Appleton is the prime contractor for the project. Crews will resurface the highway with new asphalt.

Construction is scheduled for completion by mid-October 2009.

During construction motorists may encounter lane closures and flagging operations during daylight hours.

80 percent of the project will be paid with federal transportation funds; the remaining 20 percent will be paid with state transportation funds.
