Public meeting Sept. 17 for US 51/Business 51/County K interchange in Marathon County

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is conducting a public information meeting for the proposed reconstruction of the US 51/Business 51/Marathon County K interchange in the city of Wausau.
The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 17, 2009, at the Marathon County Complex, 212 River Drive, Room 5, from 5 to 7 p.m. A brief presentation is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m.
The project includes the reconstruction of the interchange to meet current design standards, replacement of the pavement on US 51 between Bridge Street and Decator Drive, and replacement of the Marathon County U structure over US 51.
The meeting will follow an open house format. Maps and exhibits of the proposed alternatives will be on display. WisDOT staff will be available to answer questions.
