US 51 improvements in Lincoln County scheduled to begin Sept. 21

As part of his “Grow Wisconsin” initiative to invest in Wisconsin’s infrastructure and stimulate our state’s economy, Governor Jim Doyle recently signed a $268,000 contract to improve bridge decks on US 51, east of the city of Tomahawk in Lincoln County. Construction is scheduled to begin Monday, Sept. 21.
Spectrum Contracting Corporation of Grafton is the prime contractor for the project. Crews will perform deck repairs to the northbound and southbound bridges over the Wisconsin River.
Construction is scheduled for completion in early October 2009.
Traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction.
100 percent of the project will be paid with state transportation funds.
