Girder placement will cause traffic delays on US 41 in Winnebago County

September 17, 2009

Rolling lane closures near future Snell Road overpass

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region in Green Bay is announcing short-term rolling lane closures on US 41 in Winnebago County for two nights.

Thursday, Sept. 17 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Friday, Sept. 18:

  • US 41 southbound lanes between County Y and US 45 interchange

Monday, Sept. 21 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22:

  • US 41 northbound lanes between County Y and US 45 interchange

The closures are needed to transport and place concrete girders over US 41 for the future Snell Road overpass. This $3.9 million project constructs a bridge over US 41 to connect Fountain Road, west of US 41, to Snell Road, east of US 41. Construction began in July 2009 and is expected to be completed by July 2010.

Motorists are reminded to use caution and remain alert when driving through this or any work zone.
