September 21, 2009
Meeting to focus on proposed improvements to WIS 29 within the townships of Stettin and Marathon
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is conducting a public information meeting to discuss the proposed improvements to WIS 29 - east of the WIS 29/WIS 107 interchange to west of the WIS 29/72nd Avenue interchange - in Marathon County. The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, provide input and ask questions concerning this project. The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2009 from 5 to 7 p.m., in the cafeteria of Marathon High School, 204 East Street, Marathon, WI 54448.
No formal presentations are scheduled. WisDOT representatives will be available to discuss the project on an individual basis.
The purpose of this project is to replace the pavement and improve safety by minimizing cross traffic along WIS 29, reducing the potential for collisions. Alternatives have been developed to provide safer access to WIS 29 from the local road system. The alternatives will be on display at the meeting for review and comment. Construction is currently scheduled for 2012.
Citizens who are unable to attend the meeting or would like more information may contact Richard Simon, WisDOT project manager, at (715) 365-5775. Written comments regarding the project can be mailed to Richard Simon, WisDOT project manager, North Central Region, 510 N Hanson Lake Road, Rhinelander, WI 54501.
