Work scheduled to begin Oct. 1 on WIS 32/57 in Calumet County

Highway being replaced in city of New Holstein

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation Northeast Region in Green Bay is announcing work is beginning on WIS 32/57 in the city of New Holstein in Calumet County beginning Thursday, Oct. 1.

The prime contractor is LaLonde Contractors Incorporated, Milwaukee.

The project is 2.1 miles long, beginning just north of Clark Drive and continuing through New Holstein to just south of Ford Drive. WIS 32 will remain open to traffic from Clark Drive to County X.  However, the road is being closed to through traffic from County X to Ford Drive with local access only. The detour route is WIS 32/57 to County J to County X to WIS 67 to US 151 to WIS 32/57. Approximate cost is $800,000 with work being completed by late November.

The surface of the roadway is being repaired and motorists can expect a better quality of ride with reduced traffic noise once the project is completed.

Please note: There will be a meeting for businesses affected by the project on Thursday, Sept. 24 at the New Holstein City Hall, beginning at 1:30 p.m.

Motorists are reminded to use caution and remain alert when driving through this or any work zone.
