City of Menasha’s Third Street tentatively scheduled to reopen Oct. 2

September 25, 2009

Street had been closed since May slated to open Friday, Oct. 2

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region in Green Bay is announcing good news for the city of Menasha. WIS 114 (Third Street) is tentatively scheduled to reopen during the day on Friday, Oct. 2. The street had been closed from Tayco Street to Manitowoc Street since May for reconstruction.

WisDOT’s Northeast Region Director Mike Berg said, “We are extremely pleased to announce the completion of this large project and reopening of this important route through Menasha.”

Berg added, “On behalf of the department, I want to thank everyone - motorists, citizens, and business owners - for their patience and cooperation while we reconstructed this stretch of road. I know the project was intrusive and I hope people are pleased with the final product.”

He did caution that this date is weather dependent. If the road cannot be opened on Friday, it would reopen during the following week.

The $2.2 million project included the reconstruction of storm sewer, pavement, sidewalk, curb and gutter, and installation of traffic signals.
