Railroad crossings in Calumet and Manitowoc counties to be rebuilt in October

Crossings located in Sherwood and Valders

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region in Green Bay is announcing plans to reconstruct two railroad crossings during the month of October.

Beginning Monday, Oct. 12, the Canadian National (CN) Railroad is reconstructing the crossing on US 151 about three miles east of the village of Valders. The road will be closed at that location and a signed detour will be in effect.

  • The detour for US 151 is north on County J; east on County JJ; south on County S; to US 151.

The road is expected to reopen by the end of the day Friday, Oct. 16.

Beginning Monday, Oct. 19, the Canadian National CN Railroad is reconstructing the crossing of WIS 55/114 on the west side of the village of Sherwood in Calumet starting on Monday, Oct. 19.  The road will be closed at that location and a signed detour will be in effect.

  • The detour for WIS 114 from west to east is WIS 55 north; US 10 east; WIS 32/57 south; to WIS 114.
  • The detour for WIS 55 from north to south is US 10 east WIS 32/57 south; WIS 114 east; to WIS 55.

The road is expected to reopen by the end of the day Friday, Oct. 23.
