Beltline/Park Street interchange improvements in Dane County to be discussed Oct. 8
September 30, 2009
Planned improvements to the Madison Beltline (US 12/14) between Park Street and Rimrock Road, and improvements to the US 14 and US 151 (Park Street) interchanges between McCoy Road and West Badger Road will be discussed at a public information meeting scheduled by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT).
The meeting will be held Thursday, Oct. 8 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Monona Room of the Alliant Energy Center, Madison. A brief presentation on the project will be given at 5 pm.
The meeting will be organized in an open-house format with a variety of exhibits and maps available for review. Project staff will be available to answer questions throughout the evening. The public is encouraged to attend and share verbal or written comments about the project.
WisDOT plans to construct auxiliary lanes along the Beltline from Park Street to Rimrock Road on the eastbound and westbound roadways. Several interchange ramps will be replaced and a new signalized intersection will be constructed on Park Street. The intersection of Park Street and West Badger Road will be improved to include right and left turn lanes on West Badger Road. Resurfacing of US 14 south of the interchange will also occur. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2010.
Persons unable to attend the meeting can make their comments by contacting Michael Rampetsreiter, WisDOT project manager at the Southwest Region - Madison office, 2101 Wright Street, Madison, WI, 53704, michael.rampetsreiter@dot.wi.gov, (608) 246-7917.
