WIS 25 Highways for Life project, Wabasha-Nelson weekly construction update

Work completed since last update:

• Continued deck removal at Bridge 2.
• Placed steel diaphragms to existing girders.
• Installed drain at north and south abutments of Bridge 2.
• Hauled and placed base aggregate for temporary bypass of Bridge 1.
• Removed existing riprap and topsoil at Bridge 3 temporary bypass.
• Continued to haul and place borrow at Bridge 1 temporary bypass.
• Began placing stabilization fabric for temporary bypass of Bridge 3.

Anticipated work schedule for the week of Nov. 9, 2009:

• Installing shear studs and tying iron at Bridge 2.
• Place stabilization fabric at Bridge 3 for temporary bypass.
• Hauling borrow and special backfill 2 stone for temporary bypass of Bridge 3.
• Decking on Bridge 2.
• Finishing slopes, placing riprap and topsoil on temporary bypass of Bridge 1.

Reminder: Weekly meetings with the contractor occur every Monday at 8 a.m. at the Field Office behind the Nelson City Building.
